NYC Dept. of Education worker charged with sending harassing texts to boys

Cops busted a city Department of Education employee in the Bronx for sending harassing text messages to four young boys, cops said.

City school worker London King was arrested Thursday afternoon for texting a 14-year-old boy on March 6, attempting to get him to meet up with him, police said. He was hit with child endangerment and aggravated harassment charges, cops said.

King, 35, was released and rearrested Friday after three more underage victims came forward alleging similar harassment, cops said. Cops arrested King a second time when he returned to the 42nd Precinct stationhouse in Melrose Friday evening to retrieve his personal belongings.

King was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child and aggravated harassment for sending three boys money, then messaging them asking for photos, and attempting to get them to meet up with him, cops said.

King targeted two 14-year-old boys and a 12-year-old boy in three separate incidents on Oct. 20, 2023, March 1, 2023 and Jan. 4, cops said.

King was released without bail at his Friday arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court, despite the prosecutor’s request for bail, court records show.

The Department of Education and the Bronx District Attorney’s office did not immediately respond to inquiries on the case Saturday.
