PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland nurse got back Saturday night after 3 weeks dealing with clients hurt in the war in Gaza.
Monica Johnston, a burn professional, belonged to a medical objective of volunteers arranged by the Palestinian American Medical Association. Her group of 19 was operating in the only operating health center in Gaza’ southern city of Rafah in really difficult conditions.

Johnston informed KOIN 6 News that, while she’s eliminated to be home, she feels guilty that she left her group behind.

Johnston reached Portland International Airport late Saturday night in a psychological reunion surrounded by loved ones.
