The newly formed entity, named the Africa Corps, draws parallels to the Nazi forces active in North Africa during World War II.

Bloomberg’s report suggests that recruiters will enlist approximately 20,000 personnel primarily for operations in the Sahel region, situated on the southern border of the Sahara Desert.

Led by the late Yevheny Prighozin, the Wagner Group conducted extensive security operations on the continent, often receiving stakes in mines and other natural resource contracts as compensation.
